None were needed. It lasted just fine for me on normal.

I should mention that I don't use widgets atm and that I don't use wifi or location services or bluetooth, all of which are battery suckers.

WiFi is much less of a battery sucker than your mobile data...

I know, but it's still a battery sucker, just not as much as data.

If it's on standby at home leave wifi on but leave "wifi always on" disabled. It will save almost as much power as airplane mode. And your messages will still be waiting for you in the morning.

My new Flex does three days without scrimping too hard, but not by such a margin as to make me cocky about it. Just good cel service.
