Phone acting up

Yesterday the phone was working fine. Today however is when something was going wrong. My brother had used my phone to send text and left it on the kitchen table. I found it turned off, yet he didn't turn it off. When I turned it on it showed as the headphones was connected yet no headphones was connected. So I tried to connect and disconnect the yet the only thing that does is make a call. And the phone sound sounds staticky. Any suggestions?

Try booting into Recovery Mode and clearing the cache partition: Reset: HTC One (M8) | T-Mobile Support

Factory reset. If that doesn't work then you'll need to replace that sucker.

Well sound is fixed but headphone function is still on but no more random call. Basically phone thinks I have headphones connected. Also found out my brother had it in the bathroom while taking a shower. Meaning steam might have been the culprit. Tried the rice trick which may have fixed the sound.
