Soft keys

I love the sense UI on my m8, but every time I look at a different android phone, I find myself lusting after the appearance of their soft keys (ex nexus 5, G3, etc). Is there any way to ONLY change that part of the phone? Any answers would be supremely helpful!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the only way is to root and find a mod for it. There are definitely mods for that kind of thing, just not without rooting.
