Charger plug difficult to plug in

The car charger I've always had and has been fine with other phones doesn't seem to fit my m8 very well. It's a standard micro USB plug. But for whatever reason I have to basically force it into the charging port and really pull and wiggle it to remove it.

What would cause this and will it hurt the phone

Mine is relatively right too. Getting it out can take some effort. Better than the reverse.

It's just stranfe that no other charger does this and I didn't have this problem with any other phone.

So as long as it's technically still a micro usb it should be ok if it's really tight?

I noticed this too (plus odd that the port is upside down compared to other phones), but I'm wondering if it's by design so it's not as prone to loosening up over time.

Why is that strange? You don't think there could be very minor variations in size between the sizes of various charger ends?
