I hope my subject is self explanatory. Wondering if poor Wifi speeds are as bad for battery as bad network reception.

Thanks.

Poor WiFi speeds or poor WiFi connection? (As in you only get 1 or 2 bars)

I upgraded my home internet a few months ago and saw no difference in battery life even with 5x the speed. Poor signal strength could have an effect, but it won't be as severe as having only or two bars of cell data.

Poor signal can mean worse battery, but also an exceptionally fast connection can. The Wi-Fi itself wouldn't, but if you do a lot of large data transmissions, the rest of the phone will be doing more processing of the data, and that would increase battery usage.

When I first got my M8, I would go to bed 100% charge, and wake up 70%...WTF??

Eventually figured out that the new router Verizon put in had ****ty wifi range, and from the basement to the upstairs bedroom was enough distance to bork it up...

So I used Tasker to shut the wifi off between 1:00am (when I usually go to bed) and 8:00am (When my alarm goes off to get up), and my charge level each morning is now around 90%...still a lot of loss, but better than 70%...
