    Hi,
    Why would someone go for the dev edition when you can unlock the bootloader and root the other variants?

    The dev edition can be boot loader unlocked without voiding your warranty. Rooting still voids it on either version though

    Updates my friend......Updates! For me, the single most important thing. The no bloat is nice too. You won't notice it at first, but the bloat will get irritating! I converted my AT&T M8 over to a dev edition. So, either way I won! That's why I will never buy a device that doesn't a dev or unlocked edition.
