Should I Replace my HTC One m8 Through AT&T

I recently updated my iPhone 4 to an HTC One m8 in May. I sold that iPhone 4. Now, not even 6 months later, I'm having an issue that AT&T (at least the lady on the phone) says is an internal issue. While my warranty hasn't gone out, I had physical damage due to dropping it shortly after purchase. I can have it replaced for $200. I was thinking of buying another one from eBay and just activating it for AT&T. However, these phones are around $300+ and I don't think I'd be protected should something else go wrong. Am I better off paying the $200 or finding a cheaper m8? I like the phone so I'd rather not have to find another one. Thanks.

Welcome to Android Central! I think it's a safer bet to go through AT&T. It's hard to know for sure how legit or problem-free a phone on eBay is. It's also a hassle if you have to try to return it to the seller, even though eBay is pretty good about protecting the buyer.
