Pocket calls 911, HOW do I disable this and why does it do it?

I carry the phone in my shirt pocket so I get that if I don't always face it outward, my body heat might accidentally work the touch screen, but HOW does it default to unlocking without my pattern code and then dialing 911. Only actually dialed once but really embarassing and I've caught it several other times where I pull it out and it has 911 UP AS THE NUMBER TO CALL AND JUST WAITING FOR ME TO ACCIDENTALLY HIT THE DIAL.

its not unlocking. If the screen is turned on and is tapped then the "emergency call" can pop up.
Remember the M8 has the option to double tap the screen to wake it. When its in your shirt pocket your walking or moving around is simulating that double tap. So now the screen is on, the next tap is accessing the emergency call. So thats my best guess.
