With all the bad reviews on lollipop for the M8, I've decided to hold off on updating (downgrading perhaps is a better term?). This is one of the times I'm thankful Verizon takes so long, so I can see what the general attitudes are. I know you can deny/delay installing an update, but I've seen instances where the update will force itself to install without user approval. The latest being on my mate's Note 3 a few weeks ago.
That said, I'm thinking of rooting my phone to prevent the update. On my last phone, I could change the build properties to nullify the update checker. Would I want to do that with the M8, or should I go another route? I'll entertain non-root methods, but I have a few other reasons to want to root anyway.
