Apps dont work on WIFI

After todays new system update ( i guess its lolipop, didnt really read, tought it was some routine update..) most of my applications dont work on WIFI, it says there is no connection or error with conncetion.. There is nothing wrong with connection, browser works fine and i can surf the net..
When i turn of WIFI and switch to mobile internet all apps work fine.. Anyone has same problem?
It all worked fine till todays update..

Bring the phone into your carrier and ask for help. Their update, their problem.

I've been having loads of stupid wifi problems since the Lollipop update too. Apps have no connection etc. my mobile data allowance has been gobbled up without knowing this month too.

I usually have to go in to the WiFi settings page and then the phone reconnects okay without me selecting anything. Frustrating that it needs baby sitting though. other times it will ask me for my wifi password (again?!) and then say "failed to connect to network". I've not changed my wifi for years now....
