Does the m8 draw more power when at low battery level
So I had bought a external battery charger which is at 2k mAh vs the m8 at 2.6k mAh.
When I wanted to test it out I had it reach low levels (15%) and wasn't working or working properly.
So I charged it with charger and then tested at higher levels (25-30%) and it was working fine. It was blinking red when charging at 15% and according to instructions it means possibly the m8 is using more power than the charger can give.
I can only assume there's a difference on usage at 15% than any other level. Is my theory correct?
The charger is called energy shot by the way.
Separate question, does it matter on the mAh difference between 2k and 2.6k or is it safe?
Re: Does the m8 draw more power when at low battery level
I believe blinking red while its on and charging means its too hot to charge.
Blinking red while its off and charging means the battery is totally dead and is trying to charge to revive it. THen it will go to yellow and eventually green.
Also im guessing you mean the M8 charging indicator was blinking and not a light on the charger its self.

I do mean the light on the charger, not the phone.

This is the device with case
Re: Does the m8 draw more power when at low battery level
Flashing red on this charger indicates that the device plugged into it (your M8) is drawing more power than it can supply, and is exceeding the charger's 1.0 amp maximum output. The M8 will charge at 1 amp (or even less), but your charger is out smarting itself ;)
Below was copied directly from the MyCharge website manual for your charger.
"What should I do if the LED ashes red and my powerbank shuts off?
This means the device connected draws more power than the
ENERGY SHOT can give (max 1.0A), causing the USB port will shut o.
You may need to charge that particular device with a powerbank
that has an output greater than 2.0A."

Useful information if you want to use a power bank.
Thank you
