Whats up with my HTC One M8?

[AC Question]

Whats up with my htc one m8

My internal microphone started going out to where people couldn't here me. So I had to start making calls on speakerphone. Eventually the speaker phone stopped working as well and they couldn't hear me.
I read on a few blogs that this could be because I needed to update my phone. So I did . now I can't here them but they can here me when I'm in a regular call. Everything works on speaker. What's going on ?

Welcome to Android Central! I'd be concerned about failing hardware. Try wiping the cache partition, which can be helpful after system updates: http://forums.androidcentral.com/ht...ow-reboot-into-stock-recovery-htc-one-m8.html

Yes. Back up your phone either using HTC backup (and verify it backed up) and/or back it up on a computer via USB. Mine backs up to HTC Backup daily and I recently wiped my phone trying to solve a bluetooth issue. I restored it completely using HTC Restore in minutes.

No, wiping the cache partition does not erase any personal data. It's only temporarily cached system data that is cleared.

I stand corrected, but use HTC Backup automatically anyway. If you need to do a factory reset for any reason, it makes it super easy to restore.
