My phone is randomly not receiving some calls. I have tried all the usual stuff including, ##scrtn#, reset phone, update profile and update PRL and still having problems. Can a faulty simcard cause this to happen? Everything else works fine.

Faulty SIM card would prevent data or VoLTE.
    Whats faulty is Sprint.
If you have a Spark Enabled device your not connected to their CDMA voice network. So anytime a voice call, text or mms comes in, a message is sent to the phone to release one of the spark data connections and connect you back to their legacy CDMA network for the voice, text or mms.
This is why i left sprint a few years ago because they had way to many problems with the implimentation of this software and system set up.
Its possible its your device but its more likely a system issue.

The problem is with Sprint. Crappy service. I experience the same lack of phone calls from them from time to time.
