Why does HTC M8 connect to a bt hub 5, but not to a bt hub 3 ?

The device (htc m8) is Canadian origin, being used in the UK.

Welcome to the forums. I'm seeing different results for a BT hub 3 or 5. Are they wireless routers?

Yes, they are wireless routers. What do you think? I completely updated the device and still no sight of BTHub 3, never mind connection.

Off hand, I'm not sure. I don't think it's anything like the difference between 2.4 and 5 GHz, as I recall the M8 can go on both.

Yes I tried changing the frequency band. No good.

I am using a BT Home Hub 3 with no issues - so it is not as simple as the model of the hub
Maybe wireless settings? or access control?
