How to fix HTC M8's power button auto-press issue?

My HTC One M8's power button keeps on pressing by itself(although not physically but the system keeps on responding as if the power button is being pressed constantly; sometimes press-unpress cycles and sometimes continuous press such that the phone restarts itself even when it is lying on a table at rest; After the restart, all the settings in the "Settings" are set to default settings as if I have started the phone after a factory reset). This pressing of power button and consequent locking of screen happens maximum while watching videos on YouTube, not much the rest of the times. Also during browsing through videos in YouTube, it does not happen much. The other thing that pops up, especially while watching a video on YouTube is that a message stating, "Hold the volume up button for 10 seconds to restart your phone." appears!
