Should I wait for the HTC one m9?

I had the LG G3 and even though it had a lot of features I was disappointed by it because it was laggy, had low brightness and had a sharpening issue. I have heard that the M9 will be released in March and I was wondering if I should wait for that phone since i do not have a smartphone at the moment.

It's hard to say. If you need a phone now, I wouldn't wait. To my knowledge, HTC hasn't said anything about the availability of the M9 (if that is even what they are calling it).

Personally, I would wait for the M9. If you absolutely need something right now, I'd grab a 2013 moto g if you can find one cheap (maybe $100 or less, then it'll be a great backup phone after/if you get the M9.

If you're on AT&T just grab an M7 which is dirt cheap outright right now and then get sell it and get the M9 when it comes out.

I would wait for the m9, but in the meantime you got get a 2013 Moto G for around $70.00 which would be a great backup phone.

If you don't have a phone right now, then just get some cheap phone to hold you over until the new 2015 flagships are released.

M9 should be revealed on March 1 and release in the weeks after.

HTC One M8 was released on AT&T around 4/8 last year. I think it was a week or so earlier on Verizon. Maybe even the date of the HTC One event in 2014.

it will at least be mid april before the US carriers get it.

You are probably correct but I am hoping they show the M9 at MWC and then start selling by the end of March. They seem to be released a little easier every year. 4/18/13 for the M7 then 4/8/14 for the M8. A week earlier would be nice for the M9.

If you're going off past releases, then it should be released the day it's announced. That's what happened with the M8.

I think the phone will be revealed on March 1 with availability within a few weeks.

The m8 was announced and released for sale in Verizon stores and online for other carriers in the US on 3/25/14. No other countries had it any earlier.
