...(which I take more stock in) and taking a closer look, would it make sense that those designs have on-screen buttons? Considering especially the 5" render, at least, without the huge bezel making it taller, on-screen buttons wouldn't leave much room with which to play with Lollipop. This is especially the case if the M9 is also a narrow device. Imho, the evleaks renders lend more towards capacitive buttons making more sense. Thoughts?

Edit:... But then the "htc" lettering on the phone would be in the way.

Don't see capacitive buttons happening. The One M8 has on-screen buttons. The vast majority of Android OEM's have moved to on-screen buttons. I don't see the One M9 reverting back to capacitive buttons.
