New Google Play Services 7.5.71 for M9

Anyone try this yet? Hoping it addresses some of the wakelock issues.

What is the wakelock issue people speak of?

The one that drains the battery unnecessarily because it incessantly wakes up the the phone too often and it doesn't allow the phone to get into a deep sleep hence impacting standby time.


The answer is yes. It has improved standby time. However, battery life overall hasn't improved. From what I hear a combination of the new HTC firmware and Android 5.1.1 should extend battery life on the M9. Whenever they come.

Battery life at least as far as standby time since this update has been outstanding. I had over 24 hours battery life yesterday and I have never been close to that before. Once 5.1 and 1.4 firmware come around and address the run time while the screen is on. I will be very happy with the battery life
