This was suppose to come today... Anyone Get it yet?
I thought it was supposed to come out today as well.. I've been checking but haven't received anything yet
Same here. I was so pumped for the update and nothing.
I could be wrong about this, but I thought Verizon historically started pushing updates on Tuesdays. Not that I'm getting my hopes up for tomorrow though.
well lets hope so because if Mo Versi the VP, Product Management @ HTC stated that it was supposed to drop on Monday and it doesnt, thats not very positive.
Yeah still haven't heard anything as far as Verizon or tmo
Mine is trying to update. Showed at about 1:30AM this morning but my battery was too low to download. Woke up and it says it is "Device Management is running" System Update.
Been doing that since about 8AM not sure what is going on with it.Attachment 188137
Hmm interesting, I had that same thing last weekend but didn't get an update with it.
Mine ended up doing the same exact thing.
No update...
Weird..
Well Mo Versi confirmed the delay via twitter
"Dugger @Legobricke 13h13 hours ago
@moversi Any update on Verizon 5.1 for the #HTCM9?
Mo Versi @moversi 1h1 hour ago
@Legobricke There's been a short delay, need to respin SW. I'll update you once we're ready for approval. Thanks."
Thanks!
Anyone get the update yet?
For a company with poor sales and bad reviews on the net you would think they would have every update and fix possible out ASAP to try to improve sales ,guess they don't care.
Well, from HTC if goes to the carrier for them to add their branding and test. Then it is up to the carrier to approve and release it.
That's no excuse , after the reviews they have recieved they should have worked around the clock to maximize everything that could have been improved with software updates and lit a fire under the carriers to get it out . If software can improve the device it should have been maxed out by now .
The carriers hold it up to tweak, add their bloatware, and test and you want to blame HTC? This also happens with upgrades for other manufacturers phones. If you are not happy because you haven't got your upgrade from Verizon, complain about Verizon. It is in their hands. The other carriers (Sprint, AT&T, & T-mobile) have already pushed it.
Impatiently waiting
Via my HTC One M9...
Seriously... Not a word from Verizon...
Not for nothing iPhones don't have this issue.. they push updates to all there phones no matter what carrier you are on.

Verizon is traditionally behind on their updates. Unlike Apple, Android manufacturers need carrier approval before software updates. At this point it appears Verizon might be holding up the update since every US carrier already got this

My biggest gripe is Verizon's lack of transparency. I wish they would provide an estimated date at least instead of just being a black box. I work in the software development space and understand delays happen but there's always a communicated targeted release date.
On a lark, I just tried the "Live Chat" function on the Verizon support site and asked where this update was. They claimed that the first wave went out yesterday (8/4/15). I am skeptical of this since I have not seen this information anywhere else, but it's still interesting to hear this. I don't suppose it would hurt to have a few others try this just to see if the responses are similar.
*Note - they implied that the manufacturer was doing this. This part of the process has always been confusing to me.
I did the same thing on Monday, and they acted like that had no idea about 5.1. Asked if I meant 5.0.2. Then finally said 5.1 had too many bugs, and was being "fixed". Made no sense.

I just tried the manual update process and it says no updates are available at this time. I know in the past that they push by region but you could always get it immediately using the manual update process. So I guess we'll see if their "first wave went out yesterday (8/4/15)." is true or not over the next few days.
You would think that it would have been announced had the update actually started.
So I'm pretty sure I know why Verizon hasn't release the 5.1 update for the M9 yet... it's probably because they shifted their testing efforts to push 5.1.1 with StageFright fix for the Galaxy line, which makes it the second update in less than two month for the Galaxy line
It's absolutely ridiculous that Verizon is a month behind the other carriers in releasing this update..
Supposedly it is going to be released this week with the stage fight patch according to mo versa via Twitter... We shall see...
Verizon isn't just behind the other carriers they are behind the whole world Europe and Asia have gotten the update too . If this update is can improve sales HTC should be all over them if not I guess it doesn't matter.
For the Verizon variant? I checked his twitter handle and couldnt find it.
Yeah I read that on another forum (XDA) he had responded to someone's question. We will see I guess...
Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. I don't know why Verizon is always so far behind. Aren't they the #1 carrier in the US? They really need to step up their game.
It's Mo Versi not Versa. His Twitter handle is moversi. I'm one of the people that he's been sometimes responding to.
