I tend to leave my HTC powered on + plugged into AC all day to keep it charged.

After trying to transfer files from HTC to Windows 7 laptop via Bluetooth (failed), I plugged in USB cable to transfer via MTP (successful) ... unplugged USB cable + plugged HTC back into AC. HTC response was slow ... then crashed ... no power ... would not reboot.

HTC was warm but not super hot. After a while ... pressing the Power On button what seemed to be forever, the following screen appeared (sorry, my old Tracfone takes lousy pictures):
    HTC One M9 Android 5.1 Died for 3rd Time ... Overheating?-p08-11-15_20.16.jpg

The screen info looked like standard memory dump info ... which can be listed if you really want to know:
    HTC DOWNLOAD MODE in red
    SYSTEM INFO in blue
    SECURITY WARNING in yellow

I clicked screen item REBOOT and HTC died again. Waited, holding the Power On button for the longest time. Reboot started but died again. Waited, then pressed the Power On button for what seemed like an excessive time ... HTC finally rebooted normally.

There was 89% battery left, so that wasn't the issue.

I will just Power Off my HTC for a while and let it cool down (along with my temper), but this overheating issue (if that realty is the issue) is very annoying.

Sounds like you got a bad one. Take it back. Why do you say its overheating in your title then say "warm, but not super hot"?

Have you tried a factory reset? Something wonky could've happened during the update to cause your issues.

haha , not brave or desperate enough for a factory reset which will wipe out my data ... I'll just suffer.

Just replied to you on another thread. So those issues and these may be associated. It does sound like an update gone bad. I would suggest that factory reset. Backing up data is not so painful.
