    Hi

    I have an HTC M9 that was stolen and I managed to recover it.

    I placed a Device Manager Lock on it but the password will not allow me to unlock it.

    Now it says "We have changed your screenlock so you do not need a new password".

    Contains non backed up info so I cant just reboot and reset.

    Please please help.

    Try "null" as your password, try leaving password blank, and try password in all caps (even if you didn't set it that way).

    If none of those work try clearing cache partition by booting to recovery mode (Google search "htc m9 recovery site:hardreset.info") and try the above again.

    If that doesn't work, your last resort is to use Play Store to install an app to the device designed to back up your data without going beyond the lockscreen. I developed such an app you can find by the ID of "io.gillion.lockedphonebackup" on Play Store.
