I just bought my M9, and I really don't like the stock messengers. I got Textra and it's a really nice app.
I can't, though, find out how to add a custom text tone. I know how to change the text tone, but I don't know how to add a new one. I was able to do this on my LG G2, but I can't for the life of me find out how to do it on this phone. Any help would be appreciated.

I just played around in Textra, and discovered that a long press on someone in your message list adds some options in the 3-dot menu. Tap on Override Default settings, then scroll down to notification, then sound. I didn't try this, but looks like it could do what you're looking for.

Anything you copy to the ringtone folder should be available to Textra. I use tons of custom notifications and it works perfectly
