keeping messages in my in-box

My mail inbox is automatically emptied of messages more than a day old, even if they are unread. Even if I have not opened the phone. Even if there is no wifi signal. I am fed up with losing messages. I want to stop this - how???

There's a setting in the app for how long to keep messages - change it.

If I could find the setting, I would - it's not in any of the setting options I can see. Ask before deleting is on.
