Title says it all.
I have a HTC One M9 phone running Android 7.0.
Since yesterday (9-1-17) when I tried to text back to a friend using the "Messages" app, I can't type in a reply. Instead, I get a "Tap to speak" display from Google that I can't close. I've gone to the Settings - Virtual Keyboard settings and see that "Google Voice typing" is set to Automatic but I am not able to remove or turn this setting off. I've tried disabling the Google app but then I still can't type in any text reply.
Can anyone help? This problem has practically rendered my texting useless. Thanks.
