Phone locked problems

I have had. The HTC one max for about 4 months. And it was starting to act up and freeze but didn't think anything about it. I had the fingerprint scanner as. My password and all of a sudden I have a password screen pop up instead and. No longer have the fingerprint scanner. I have. Tried every password if had on the phone. Plus a few but it said than I only had 10 attempts before the devices data is deleted and I only have 2 attempts left I really don't wanna. Hard reset because I have a lot on my phone does anyone have any suggestions???? And it does not link to my Google account to get in to it that was I talked to HTC and they have no solution just said I would have to hardreset it and. Possibly have to send it in to them. Hope there's some way to fix this...

Sorry for the late reply. I am thinking a reset is probably the only way to get around it.

Did you try holding the power button and following the prompts that may get the finger print to pop back up

Just relock the boot loader then unlock again ,it will work again
