my htc one mini was dropped in water a few days ago.it was retrieved immediately and dried out and seemed to keep working after a few mins. since then screen has stayed mostly dull but will occasionally brighten up for a few seconds but it is not affected by adjusting the brightness. it has been manageable until the screen kept turning off on its own after just a few seconds. some times the screen wont stay on long enough to do anything at all, other times it just seems to time out whilst still in use. I have left the phone somewhere warm and dry for a few days to see if there is still water causing a rectifyable fault, but I am not holding out much hope.
I only have until October until my contract expires and I wondered if anyone has any idea how much the fault might cost to repair? I don't know if it is financially worth fixing as it isn't insured and unlike previous faults, won't be under warrantee.
    Advice welcome.
Its fair to say my next phone will be waterproof!!!!!

How much would it cost to repair? If it is over $100,I wouldn't bother. You can get a Moto g 3rd gen for $180 which has water resistance.
