Hey ,

Newbie here.
I rooted my HTC One ( At&t ) and flashed the custom rom (4.2.2 ) using twrp.
I would like to know is there anyway to remove the black bars ?
Also, Is there anyway to keep the original HTC camera features ?

What ROM did you flash?

If it's a Sense-based ROM, go to Settings > Display and there will be two options to let you choose how the Home button works, choose the second option so that holding the home button will display Menu and then black bar will disappear.

If it's a Google Play Edition ROM, you'll need a custom kernel.

Well there are many but my personal favorite is Bulletproof kernel. You'll find it in the Android Development section under HTC One in xda forums. If you need a link let me know but it's fairly easy to find. You'll need to flash it in TWRP.
