    Hello,

I was trying to install a new ROM, so I wiped all the data on my One, but something didn't allow the ROM to install and so now I'm stuck with no files and only CWM Recovery (6.0.3.1). I haven't been able to push files over onto /sdcard/ and sideloading works fine until it comes to installation where files get extracted but once it starts writing them my One turns off. Further investigation found that I can't mount /sdcard or even format it (phone turns off again). On Viper, I was able to view system information which told me /sdcard had -1MB of available space?! Can anybody offer any help or direction or is my phone well and truly bricked?

(I'm not 100% sure if USB debugging is turned on either, but I can view it in the android dev kit and my computer recognises that it's plugged in.)

I am still learning the flashing game. But as long as the phone is being recognized by the computer via USB, it's not bricked. I believe you have to fresh install twrp or cwn. Then flash the drivers (may not be required if phone is recognized). Then rom.

    Good luck with this.

You dont usb debugging while in recovery. When i sidload a rom i put the rom in my sdk/platform-tools folder and name it something easy like "rom" Open a cmd propmt from that same platform-tools folder by holding down shift right click on the folder and choose open command window here.. Start the sideload in recovery and type adb devices, you should have some letters and numbers for a return. if so type "adb sidload rom.zip" . and if adb doesnt see your phone some times unplugging it and back in helps

Great, thanks. I'll try and flash twrp onto my phone then.

Did exactly that but as soon as I got to the installation process my phone switches itself off so I can't install a ROM.

    -UPDATE

Solved the problem. Thanks! Managed to flashboot twrp and somehow re-format. I was then able to adb push a ROM and install the ROM through recovery

I used fastboot to re-install a new recovery then I use adb sideload (part of the android dev kit) to sideload a ROM from my PC to my phone and I was able to install a ROM that way.

can you be more specific on what you did? for example write down a tutorial?

i would be very happy if you do that..

I followed a guide like this:

    [GUIDE] CWM/TWRP ADB Sideload - xda-developers

    Hope this helps.

You simply go into Fastboot and flash a recovery like TWRP.

Get your adb and fastboot files ready and put the recovery file inside the same folder as the adb files. Rename the recovery file recovery.img for easier use.

If you have the Android sdk, the files are in the platform-tools folder.

Open a command prompt and change the directory to the folder containing the adb and fastboot files.

    Type "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"

Once the recovery is flashed, get a ROM and use adb sideload to push the ROM to the phone.

    "adb sideload rom.zip"

Hey,these are what you will be needing-
    1) a rom(if your phone had a personal rom for ex-miui,oxygenos then downlload those from the web
    2)twrp recovery(very important)
    3)a computer and a cable
connect your phone to the pc,and copy the downloaded rom to the internal storage of your phone(make sure the phone is off),then boot into twrp, click install, select the rom and then flash it.reboot and done!!! :d:d:d:d:d:d
