Thanks again, I tried your second link, but i get the message that "The best driver software for your device is already installed".

Could it be some issues with my paths (to fastboot.exe etc.) ... just a thought?

No, I think it might be HTC Sync. I suggest you uninstall it.

I get the same result as earlier - see below.

Just to be sure that i do it in the correct sequence:
1. I sign up for an HTCdev account (and nothing else)
2. I click on step 2. Get your Token ID

i've just downloaded it - what shall I do with it?

It must be on your end, I have files downloaded from mediafire every day without any issues

I believe I have solved the problem. Re-Download the toolkit. I have added some stuff. See if it works now.

I solved it I think. I think it was a mistake on my part. We'll see if my fix works. And as for your link, I think you're like me huh, I like to keep a backup of files that people make just in case they disappear or their links are broken and stuff like that

Make sure USB Debugging is on.

Open Settings> About> Software Information> More.
Then tap “Build number” seven times to enable Developer options. Finally you will see “You are now a developer!” message on the screen.
Go back to Settings menu and now you’ll be able to see “Developer options” there.
Tap it and turn on USB Debugging from the menu on the next screen.

After that, try again.

Nice! Just submit it and htc should send you the unlock code shortly.

The problem seemed to be that the adb.exe and fastboot.exe were missing in the main folder.
