I am writing this for a friend one mine. He put the google play edition ROM on his HTC one but the official ota update downloaded and wants to install and he doesn't want it. How do you get rid of it so it doesn't try to install?

Flash a rom where the OTA notification has been removed

Have you searched Google or XDA ? you need to edit the build prop, remove the certs and maybe a apk or 2.

Are you using the suggested version of TWRP/CWM? Won't work with certain versions so you might need a newer one

You need to flash a new one. Just look for an updated version on XDA.

Oh OK, not sure then. You'd have to flash the new recovery the same way you did the first time. Idk how it's done on Mac
