Why is my screen timeout happening after 5 seconds when i set it to 1 hour

My HTC one screen time out is happening after 5 seconds, so i go to my settings to change it then it changes it self back, very annoying as when typing or calling someone. Also it charges fine but as soon as screen time out appears it stops charging. Car mode has also popped up twice on its own.

Do you have a battery saver etc? It sounds like something is changing the settings. I'd check out your app settings, do you have a battery saver setting in your phone settings? I'm not familiar with HTC but my Note 4 has a battery saver that shuts the screen off in 5 seconds no matter what the main setting is set for. Just a thought.
