Here's mine. Has anyone ever ordered from radioshack.com? What have your experiences been?

I preordered my Samsung Epic 4g from them 2 years ago. Details are a little hazy, but I got a call from them on the release date, picked up the phone on my way to Labor Day vacation, set up & activated it in a snap. 2 weeks later I brought it back -- can't remember what the problem was -- and they swapped it out for a new one, no questions.

For that reason, I chose them over amazon for the One X. If there were any problems, it'd be easier bringing to my local store and showing someone the problem rather than describing the problem by phone/computer then shipping it back, without a replacement phone.

I missed out on their preorder as I was out of town. Their current price is $199. Will they match Wal Mart down the street which has it for $149? I HATE giving my money to Wal Mart

I got both my Evo's from Radio Shack and had no issues. I most likely will be getting the new EVO there also.

Thanks, ndc, for posting your RS experience. I was a bit leery at placing an order with them as I have never done so and have been pleased with Amazon in the past. So, it's reassuring to hear about the good service.
My order status is also "awaiting inventory."

I posted this in the ATT order thread already, but I ordered mine in radio shack and it came in on Friday. If the manager hadn't locked it up with a sign that reads " sell on launch date ", then the guy working on Friday would have given it to me. I will have to hold up one more day....

Woohoo! Just called RS -- they said I can pick mine up tomorrow when they open at 10! Will spend tonight diligently backing up/copying over the data on my Epic.

Preordered mine way late (on the 4th), their site shows a ship date of tomorrow. Of course, it said shipping on the 4th and 5th, too. Still apparently waiting on approval from AT&T, which I thought it did when I ordered it (I'd swear it got that "Approval" check mark within 30 seconds of starting the process). Kinda weird, so I might chat with them this afternoon and make sure everything's kosher. I'd spoken to AT&T the day before about being able to upgrade and they gave it their blessing, so who knows.

I just hope they give me a ship date before I start having chest pain or something ;)

Sorry to hear about that, Lenient Process. I think their support is closed on Sunday but I could be wrong.
I don't think we will be seeing ship dates before tomorrow. They did state that pre-orders would be filled in the order received, though I am not sure whether they first go to RS or come directly from ATT. Let's hope things start moving tomorrow!

Picked up mine today, when I ordered it the guy said all they have are grey ones. The pre order form did not have a place to select a color, just a picture of the grey one. All of the ones that came in including mine are white...oh well. Charged and ready to go and now I'll have time to play with it.

So, I preordered it the day after it became available; a grey one. I purchased it in-store, and asked a ton of questions regarding warranties, availability, and my rights insofar as the possibility of backing out of the whole thing. The answers were that a)My device was fully covered by Radio Shack for 30 days b)I could order the grey c)That I was entitled to a full refund, including the $50 gift card.

I went in today, and it came - the white one came in. I was then informed that the grey wasn't available at Radio Shack. I showed her on my phone that the opposite was true, she confirmed so on her computer, and a call to her DM informed both of us that the RS website was a third party vendor to the stores, and that furthermore the grey was only obtainable through them. Oh, and I couldn't use the $50 through them either. Coupled with the fact that they wouldn't refund me for the phone if they saw so much as a scratch on that white phone, and that they wouldn't refund me the $50, I backed out. Plus, they couldn't transfer my grandfathered plan, and to add insult to injury, had rendered my SIM unusable during the almost-upgrade process. So, I left RS One X- less, no SIM, a hobbled data plan, and $50 poorer.
Thankfully, AT&T was able to reissue the SIM after two tries, and I should be able to correct my data plan, but damn! Hopefully going through AT&T directly will resolve everything... after the requisite 3-5 day waiting period to clear RS upgrade hold from having processed my order. Radio Shack has officially lost me as a customer.

I hope that's not a portent of things to come :(

Color-wise, I'd prefer the gray, but if it's white, I'm probably just going to stick a black case on it anyway, so no big thing. It would've been nice to know that I didn't have a choice, though.

I was a little bummed about not getting grey, but now that I've spent time with the white, it's still a beautiful phone.

After a total of 2.5 hrs spent at RS due to porting my number over from Sprint and AT&T's credit approval process, I finally have it in my hand! Can't wait to play with it.

Ha, your story sounds just like mine - my at&t store didn't have any more white ones, so I went to radio shack - wow, what a mess that was. They had no idea what they were doing - I'm on the grandfathered unlimited plan and he was trying to put my on the 3GB plan and telling me it was the same thing. I ran out of there as fast as I could. Thank god at&t called me 5 minutes later and said one of their customers decided for the grey instead of the white so they were holding the last one for me. They were able to keep me on my unlimited plan and keep my old text plan as well... Not ever going back to radio shack...
