My HTC One X's battery died and when I restarted, all of my texts were gone including the ones I have had locked for months. Is there any way to retrieve the texts? This seems to be the only irregularity. My contacts are fine, my call history was not affected, and all pics remain. I can't figure out how the texts were wiped out and nothing else was affected.
Thanks for any and all help.

Welcome to Android Central! So it didn't do a factory reset on its own, right? Try going to Settings>Apps>All, select Messaging, and Clear Cache, then open it again. Don't Clear Data, because that will probably wipe all of the messages associated with the app.
