Widgets Resizing?

Anyone else have an issue with widgets not appearing in their proper ratio? Some work fine but others are far larger than they should be. For example, I use a Poweramp which is sized as 4x1 but the phone thinks it's 5x2. There are several others doing the same. It's annoying because the widgets take up far too much space.

It wasn't a problem on the HTC 10 so I'm thinking it's an issue with the latest version of sense. Or is it just me?

Some widgets I've been able to resize using a pinch motion. A blue cropping line appears around the widget.

I know about that and can do it on some widgets but not the ones giving me problems. Thanks for the response.

I've considered it but I mostly like things the way they are. I did a bit more searching and it looks like this is an app specific problem with 7.1.1. There are only a few problem widgets and I can live with it for now. But thanks for the response.
