So, Android O is apparently going to drop soon, maybe next week. Pixels and Nexus devices will get it pretty immediately, of course.

So, how is HTC about updating? Based on past experience, when can we expect to see Android O for the U11, for example?

TBH, it's too early to even discuss this right now. Hopefully it will be by the end of the year!

On previous unlocked HTC phones for me it's been about December. But since HTC only have the unlocked and Sprint versions in the US I think it may be earlier this year.

Is it Android N or O that introduces the new feature where the core OS and carrier components are separate? That should help speed things up eventually.

I think the unlocked US model will probably get them in couple of months. Carrier version may be in December.
