What do you mean, it's always come back failed? Do you mean it fails to send or the receiver doesn't get it?

Turn off WiFi. That's an issue I had, was told to turn off WiFi and send with data connection. Give it a shot works for me.

With the HTC Vivid, it automatically turns the Mobile Data on even while the WiFi is on; at which point, the mobile data is only being used to send/receive a picture. So that's not an issue.

I'll assume you're trying to say it won't even send...when did this start?

Hmm...well, did you buy the phone from AT&T, online, or did you get it flashed by any chance?

Huh. I guess it could just be the APN settings...have you gave them a call yet and told them your issue?

You probably don't have picture messaging on your contract. Even so - calling AT&T would be the way to go. What is their number, *611 or *411?

    I don't even use "*", I just type "611" and it calls AT&T.

I don't know the values nor do I remember where it's located other than Settings>Wireless Settings. Find somewhere where it will tell you. But that's also a good point: you have a data plan with AT&T, right?

Menu > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names > and AT&T PTA or whatever you have in there...
