I have a HTC 4G light phone and it has loads of writing on the screen, how can I get it cleared?

<vol up> to preview item
<vol down> to next item
<power> to select item

BOOTLOADER
REBOOT
REBOOTBOOTLOADER
POWER DOWN.
ANY ADVICE AS TO WHAT TO DO WITH THE PHONE OR IS WRONG WITH IT.

Use Volume Up or Down to select Reboot, then press Power.
