Green Screen (tint) after water damage?-img_20200705_223249.jpg
    Hi,

unfortunately I had a water incident. Despite being officially IP68 my Mate 20 Pro did not like it.

After drying it works again. Also touch screen.

However, there is a constant green tint and the display flickers some times.
I checked already all contacts inside. It seems the water entered at the upper right corner of the phone.

What part is potentially broken? Display or motherboard?

Check it in safe mode. Most likely you will need to have an expert look at it. IP68 is not perfect nor is it permanent. It weakens as the phone is used because of all the bumps, drops, exposure to heat, humidity, sprays and more.

Definitely the display is damaged but anything further would have to be opened up and looked at

At this point, it could be anything and everything. Since water got inside, there's no telling what got wet. Aside from the obvious problem with the display, other components are now at risk of corrosion building up over time and causing problems later on down the line.

I would strongly consider just replacing the entire phone. At the very least, keep very thorough backups.

Where did you dropped it at ? IP68 only protect against regular water. Swimming pool or beach water will ruin your phone.

IP68 only helps prevent intrusion of any liquid or dust regardless of composition. Regular water will also ruin your phone if it gets inside.

Not true. Swimming pool and beach water are different. The chemicals in them are harsh. IP68 are rated only on fresh water.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Samsung literally got sued for misleading customers with that same claim.

Any liquids inside the phone will get ruined, but I was only asking where he dropped it at.
