Got a Mate 20 Pro, Ask Questions

Hi everyone, I have a Mate 20 Pro for review, I have had it since yesterday shortly after the announcement. Much like I did with the Mate 10 Pro last year, if you have any questions with regards to the device please post them here and I will do my best to answer them

Here are some pics of my unit, it's an absolute stunner, very well built and features stacked to the hilt. It is curved on both the front and the back, but it's a more gradual curve, unlike the steap curves of the Samsungs, it's also quite compact, I have compared it to a Galaxy S8 below.

Can you please help me check if both phones are able to shoot pics in RAW Format ? With Manual setting control? eg, ISO, F-stop, TV

also does both phones have AMP for audio ?

how are the speakers? in Mono or Stereo?


Does the video shot in 4K format?

Lastly, if I apply a screen protector onto the phone. Does the finger sensor still work?

With regards to Music, the phone supports Dolby Atmos only if you have headphones plugged in, please see below screen shot, with Dolby Atmos it allows adjusting equalizers and it gives your music more depth, however I don't believe there is a full on audio chip like the LGs have for example.

With regards to Camera, yes you can save in RAW format, there is an option to turn this on in the settings.

It does support shooting in 4K @ 30 FPS

It comes with an app called Smart Controller. It's ok but not nearly as good or as Peel or Anymote

Hey, is the notification led still the same tiny, almost invisible one from last year or is it any better? It did look bigger and brighter on a YouTube video I watched but that could just be wishful thinking on my part

It does indeed, it has an app called Smart Remote

LTE reception has been great and so has WiFi, it holds a stronger LTE connection than my Galaxy Note8 and the iPhone X we have here at home.

Battery Life is good, I did an initial run on the first charge that gave me over 6hours SOT over 14hours of usage, take note this is an initial run and the battery still needs to settle so it can only get better, here are some screenshots

In terms of camera I will be putting together some pics to share, have not had time yet to do this.

I am not in the USA so unfortunately have no idea what networks it will work on as I am in the EMEA region.

Nope, unfortunately no 3rd party support currently, this may change but right now, no.

It is still quite small but it seems brighter. It sits next to the speaker grill now, more centralized, which helps.
