One handed mode: swipe right (or left for you lefties) across the home button - the screen shrinks down to a more manageable size. Swipe back the opposite direction or tap anywhere in the unused portion of the screen to restore full size.

Swipe up from the lock screen gives you iPhone like options. Flashlight, camera, calculator etc..

So I'm gathering you cannot wake the Mate 9 with "OK Google" from a locked screen? I've ready a couple of places that it doesn't work and haven't yet gotten it to work on mine.

Just discovered you can set the homescreen to rotate!
Long press on empty area of homescreen, press "settings" in the lower right corner. Turn on "Auto rotate" at the bottom of the settings list.
