Is there any chance of Android Oreo and EMUI 8 on the Huawei Mediapad M3?

[Android Central Question]

I received the EMUI 5 update for my Mediapad a month or two ago, but I was wondering if there was any chance of getting Oreo before updating. I want to update to EMUI 5 but I don't want to be left with no updates if there is a problem. I believe I saw the Mate 8 will be getting Oreo and I think the two have the same hardware so I didn't know if it was possible to get the update. Thanks in advance.

Unless people in EU start clamoring for Oreo on the MediaPad M3, I believe this device will stay on Nougat. What's worse is that it is still stuck on the May 2017 security patch. Ugh.

I got an OTA update last night. Still on Android 7.0 and EMUI 5.0.1
But I am now on the November 2017 security patch with the latest update.

Download the Firmaware Finder app and try to locate the new update. Then uninstall the app. Reboot and see if the update is available for your device. That trick seemed to work for my device. Good luck.

Emailed Huawei and got this... "Mediapad M3 8.4 is not listed between the devices that will recive the update."
