Hi guys. I'm having problems with my P10. I have bought a second-hand P10, 6 months old and in mint condition. I removed the factory plastic film and put a tempered glass on. The next day I noticed that i see white digitizer lines and discoloration around the touched area even on light presses. I have removed the glass and after about 15 minutes without the display protector, the things returned to normal. I put this down to poor protector quality. I used it like that for 2 days, with no issues. Then, I decided to put a new plastic film to avoid accidental scratches. After only 10 minutes, to my surprise, I noticed the same distortions on the display. Upon googling for a bit, I learnt that my phone may be suffering from static electricity problem. Is this correct, and if so, do I RMA? The display distortions from the electricity are most noticable when you try to remove the plastic film looking at the display at the same time.... After the removal, the things seem to stabilize.... Any suggestions welcome. (if important, both the plastic film and the glass were no name products)

I would try to rma it since you already tried to use two screen protectors with the same problem.

Not sure if they will rma it though being that you aren't the original owner but didn't hurt to try

Ty for your reply. Rma will not be the problem. I will try with the more expensive screen protector first. It occured to me that the cheap ones might not be anti-static. Also, the person who put the glass on didnt use the anti-static wipe, only a micro-fiber cloth... If i Rma i will pray that the tech person not remove the glass...

In my experience, I have used cheap plastic and glass screen protectors and never experienced the that you are having, although I don't have this phone, so can't say in this specific case. Worth a shot to try a better one for sure, just don't think it will make a difference.

Ive been asking around.. The problem sems to be the absence of the oleophobic coating, which results in the build up of static electricity... Only the early p10 models came without this coating.... The phone has gorilla glass 5 so I decided to keep it in the original folder case without glasses, films and stuff....

It is pretty inexcusable for a phone like the p10 not to have an oleophobic coating
