This only works in the day. A big NO for night shots. High ISO + faster shutter speed = unusable photos. Let alone fast moving objects.
Only works during the day? Why would you need high ISO during the day? Do you guys actually use the pro mode?

It's just aperture mode from the P20 Pro, 0.95 aperture on the wall, edited from the phone with the stock mono filter.

I tried on another picture what you said you done, but can't figure out how you kept the colour on the wall and turned the rest black and white, when I use the edit and click on mono the whole picture turns black and white, how did you keep the colour on the wall, did you use Photoshop out something?

Sorry, got the steps a bit wrong before, it was all done on the phone -

    1. Take picture in aperture mode.
    2. Open the picture that you just took.
    3. Tap the little 'wide aperture effects' icon in the top right. Here, you can refocus and adjust aperture.
    4. Tap 'Filter', set filter to mono to get the monochrome background. There are plenty of other filters too.

    Voila!

Kind Sir; I'm new. Ok straight to it, I have a P20 Pro, love it... Camera cool but a little confusing but I got what I wanted... a more complex camera experience... BUT HELP... what is the best mode for the best quick shot. Point and shoot and wow! Please don't tell the Pixel 2. HA HA. And if I am shooting moving subjects, any advice on what mode may be best?! Is there away to select on command the Master AI features?settings? Like Stage for instance? Or am I to use the Photo setting and let it choose for me> Can I not scroll to or choose a setting outright? Ok I am done. Thanks in advance! Tim

Honestly, I'm no expert but for indoor and outdoor day time point and shoot, the photo mode is your best bet, aperture mode is really simple to use too to add some bokeh effects but you lose AI scene recognition. For moving subjects, if you want to capture some motion blur type effect, you're going to need pro mode with a slow shutter speed. As far as I know, you can't command the AI scene detection, it'll just switch scenes based on the scene that it detects.

In any mode, I'd turn on the assertive grid (read about the rule of thirds), and on pro mode, turn the horizontal level on.

Uhhhhhh, something went major west on that one. Looks like a hand drawn and colored cartoon when viewed on my 12.9 tablet.

Looks kind of like a colorized version of the original Wizard of Oz movie with all the fake backdrops and all.
