How do I colour code every single event on my calendar?

I used to have thr Samsung Galaxy J5 and everytime I entered a new event on my calendar I used to be able to colour code something and I'd use a colour depending on the type of event. For example, grey for appointments, orange for social events, blue for birthdays etc. You get the picture

I now have the Huawei P20 (The standard one and NOT the Lite or Pro). I seem to only be able to colour code my calendar based on whether it's to do with my gmail account or the phone's account. Is there a way I can change the individual colour of an event so I can colour code?

Welcome to Android Central! I moved this to the P20 forum for more specific traffic.

It's unlikely that the stock Calendar app can do that, if you haven't found an obvious setting for it. What you're asking is pretty non-standard, so you'd probably have to look for a 3rd party calendar app in the Play Store with that feature (if one exists).
