Absolutly i al completly with you on this one, i am pretty sure it is a limitation both by api2 and the kirin 980 which simply is not good enough in the video camera department would have been better to have more option like 4k60 and 4k24/25 i am not sure if Huawei will change this but is worth a try. I remember doing something similar previously with Xiaomi and they enabled 4k60 so you never know. The only thing is they need enough requests to make it a thing (open up api2) to work on from their end.
Yes, I post on Huawei's official Instagram account as well to support the Camera2API, more people need to do this if they really care about having a much better consumer experience than they currently have.

Linking to the thread as well. This one I mean:

Anyone got the latest update with the new front camera night sight mode added. Can you please share your photo results?

Just curious if it's any good.

anyone seen this issue when taking a photo on a very sunny day?
I noticed that a few of my photos I've taken has the lens flare.

I would expect that when making a photo and having a bright light (example as in the sun) hitting the lens from the side.
Shade the lens with your hand. That’s why lenses from actual cameras have or have provisions for a lens shade (hood).
Most any lens will display some flare when hit from the side with light.

so i guess it's not something i have to worry about? I don't recall having that problem with my old P20 pro to be honest i'm wondering if it has to do with the TOF lens that's alittle more sensitive.
