If you're in doubts about the usefulness of the zoom thanks to a few reviewers doubting why you need it then carry on reading.
Went to a wildlife park and this phone stepped up big time. Got pictures that I'd never have been able to get thanks to the 10x hybrid zoom!
Going to try and link a few

One word: wow. You can see the grains of sand/dirt in the meerkat habitat. Wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing.

This right here. People were asking "who the hell needs up to 50x zoom" and this kinda thing was exactly the use case I thought of. How many times do you go to a zoo or wildlife park etc and the animals are so far away they're almost impossible to get a photo of without a proper zoom camera? This makes it so much easier

I too find that I am often in need of a zoom camera. So this is a good feature to have on a flagship.

For some reason I feel that after this last firmware update I got today the images look more fake on my P30 Pro. The clouds don't look right. The zoom on the other hand at about 12 feet away @ X10 zoom indoors is quite good.I do like the new AR Measure I got in the last update.

Did you find that your image starts to move around a lot at X9 Zoom on up?
That's just physics and happens with any camera that isn't stabilized (I.e. On a tripod or something else solid). Image stabilization systems can also sometimes exaggerate the effect if the camera movement goes beyond the limits of the stabilization.

I actually set the base on my desk to see if that would happen and it still moved. Asked me to keep camera steady while desk was not moving.

Don't worry! I'm sure we'll see more photos soon! Especially once more people get their phones in the mail/delivered/etc. :)

Were you still touching the phone at all? If you could take a video from another device showing what's happening, that would help too.

Second pic taken with 5X zoom and others below taken with 10X zoom.
You could barely see the mountain in person.
