As a first time Huawei P30 Pro user and to save me trawling through all the threads, can anybody advise as to how I can do the above?

You'll need to Google it I'm afraid. There's no setting on the actual phone to change it as it's carrier specific. You need to find out and enter the long code in the phone app and dial it to change the ringing timeout before it goes to voicemail.

Just search for 'how to change ringing timeout before going to voicemail on (whatever your carrier is)

Call your voicemail and listen to the menu. If you don't hear it, go to the additional or extended menu.

If you're in the US, figure 5 seconds per ring (it's by time, not by number of rings) and add 2 seconds, to allow for the fact that what you hear and what the caller hears aren't synchronized. The maximum time is usually 30 seconds.

If you still can't do it that way, call your carrier's customer service number and ask them to reset it for you.
