So I noticed when downloading these apps when i searched using app gallery it found them and then took me directly to the respective direct websites and not a 3rd party APK site like petal search normally does.

I was wondering if anyone knows why these apps are available to download as APKs directly from the official website. I've also noticed that the update manager in app gallery alerts you when updates are available for these apps which is a nice bonus.

I'm not sure what the mechanics are behind this, but clearly Huawei are trying everything to make sure that as many apps as possible are available and up to date.

You can only admire that solution for at least the short term.

For me the update notifications was a nice bonus.

Do you guys not have Findorra or Petal? I use Findorra to get all my apps (it was in the Huawei App Galley here in South Africa) so I have all my necessary Social Media apps installed.
