Why does P9 suddenly drain from 50%+ to 1%?

A

AC Question

Recently had my screen replaced by reputable shop. Since getting it back p9 will suddenly go from loads of battery to 1% and shutdown. Doesn't seem to relate to one particular app, although has been camera last few times. Often if i restart/plug on it isn't actually dead.

I've done a full factory reset, cleared data, cleared cache. I've tried wakelock.

Any ideas what it could be and how I can fix it?

Welcome to Android Central! It sounds like it could be a battery dendrite, which is an irreversible defect in the battery. You may have to get the battery replaced.

This exact same issue happened to my P9 after the screen was replaced. As soon as it hits 40% the phone drains and turns off but can then turn back on again. So would the battery dendrite be caused by a screen replacement or could there be an other explanation?
