droid newbie

I am brand spanking new to Droid, purchasing the Bionic last Thursday.
I have had a Blackberry for a long time now, and I loved it, but since the business I am in is growing leaps and bounds, I need something faster and more versitile.

The one thing I cannot figure out how to change: when the phone is vertical and you change its position to horizontal, is there a setting so I can make it go faster?

Does anyone know if that is true, and if it is, how to change it?
